Information for parents/individuals with ADHD

Support Groups

We currently hold twice monthly sessions for parents of children with neurodivergence.

The evening sessions alternate between the PATT office on Lodge Lane Grays (booking essential) and Maple Park Community Centre in Stanford Le Hope. Check the booking page for information on discussion topics or guest speakers.

The daytime sessions are held at the Family Hubs across the borough in rotation. Again, check the booking pages for dates/venues.

In early 2026 we will introduce a monthly online session for adults (18+) with ADHD.

We will also launch our “Chaps” group for dads, grandads and any other male friends or family that want to talk about/learn more about ADHD. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page or Events section of the website.

Post Diagnosis Support Session

Once your child/young person has received the diagnosis, you will have LOTS of questions. You may just want to talk about how the diagnosis has made you or your child feel. We can offer a free 2-hour private session to answer questions and signpost you to helpful resources and support. Please note, this is NOT counselling. This is parent to parent engagement using a befriending support model. We offer a “listening ear”, someone to talk through issues and help you plan next steps. We can offer evening or weekend appointments if required. To make an appointment, click here.

Private Parenting Guidance

If you are struggling to agree with your partner or other family members on how to support your neurodivergent child/young person, we can offer sessions to discuss parenting approaches, find and agree on strategies and approaches to suit your child and work for your family. These two hour sessions are free, but we would welcome donations for any resources supplied. To make an appointment, click here.

Executive Function Profiles

Working with young people (10yrs +) we identify the particular aspects of ADHD that they find challenging. Having identified the challenges, we work with the young person to create an executive function focussed one page profile which offers strategies and solutions agreed by them which can be shared with schools or other organisations. Each session can last up to 75 minutes depending on the young person’s tolerance level and it is highly likely that his will take more than one session to complete. We work at the young persons pace.
